Having determined that we would not be able to retire in the good ole U.S. of A. We started looking for another option. Upon several years of investigating places to retire, we chose Panama.
So here we are 3 years later and loving life and loving the worry free life we have created for ourselves here in Panama. We keep close contact with our family and friends in the U.S. but are not sorry we made this decision due to the current economic situation in the U.S. We love our country, but just not happy with the way things are going for us elderly people there.
Our decision to leave, was only because we did not want to change our life style once we were retired. But looking at the current chain of events with all the baby boomers retiring, we felt that our Pensions would be spent on health care, taxes, groceries and general home maintenance and utilities.
